Last Friday, Bonacio Construction received incentives from Oneida County to move forward with its plans to purchase over 4 acres of land on Route 825 in Rome, NY. The land will be home to a new mixed-use project comprised of two, four-story buildings containing 84 apartment units and street-level commercial space.
This project has been welcomed by both Governor Andrew Cuomo and Rome Mayor, Jacqueline M. Izzo. Its aim is to help keep Rome’s workforce closer to their jobs and link them to the rest of the city. Currently, only 30% of Rome’s almost 6,000 strong workforce live in the area.
