Local Construction Industry to Meet School Counselors to Discuss Need for Skilled Labor – May 2 in Saratoga Springs

Saratoga Springs, April 30, 2018 – According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the United States has 158,000 unfilled construction sector jobs. That number is expected to increase as tradespeople retire over the next decade. The issue will be highlighted locally at an industry tour for the BOCES Regional Association for School Counselors on May 2, 2018 at 1:30pm. Sonny Bonacio, owner of Bonacio Construction will address the group on behalf of the Saratoga Builders Association. He will speak about local industry trends, the need for skilled labor, and how Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs may help to fill the gap. BJ Kozlowski, a partner from B&B Plumbing & Heating will also talk about the company’s experience of hosting CTE interns and company’s prospective as a mentor.
